Location. The modern Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels is in the high-rise European Quarter of Brussels, Belgium, one block from the European Commission and Schuman metro station. The eight-floor hotel is within two kilometres of the Grand Place and the designer boutiques lining Avenue Louise. Brussels Airport (BRU) is 12 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Glass doors open into the Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels' mahogany-and-marble lobby, displaying vintage cameras and framed prints by European artists.

Tan leather benches, light furniture and fresh roses decorate L'Objectif restaurant, serving breakfast and modern French cuisine for lunch and dinner. The black-tiled News Bar serves cocktails beneath murals depicting a starry night sky. For two hours every evening, complimentary canapes accompany drinks. The two-tier Jacqmotte Coffee House offers breakfast, light lunches and snacks.

The Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels has seven meeting rooms for 10 to 100 people. Adjoining the lobby, the business centre offers a computer with high-speed Internet access (surcharge).

For a surcharge guests can use the mosaic-tiled health club which houses a gym with weights, cardiovascular equipment and four resistance machines. There is also a sauna, steam room, jetted tub and relaxation area opening onto an outdoor deck. Massages are available on request.

Guestrooms. The Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels has 214 contemporary guestrooms, decorated in cool blue and white tones with mahogany panelling and framed original photographs. All rooms feature air conditioning, wireless Internet access (surcharge), cable television, minibars and safes. Monochrome bathrooms have polished granite cabinets and bath/shower combinations.

Expert Tip. Five blocks from the hotel, Autoworld houses 19th- and early 20th-century cars, motorcycles, coaches and carriages.

Distance to the Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels is 12 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The airport's railway station is located below the terminal building on the basement level, and is accessible by elevator. Airport City Express trains leave every 10-30 minutes between 5 a.m. and midnight, and travel to the city's three main stations. Single fares cost 2.60 EUR. Metered taxis can be found in front of the Arrivals hall; licensed cabs have a blue and yellow emblem. The journey to the centre of Brussels takes about 20 minutes and costs 30 EUR-40 EUR. De Lijn buses run to the city every 45 minutes. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels is situated one kilometre from the European Parliament, close to Schuman metro station. Brussels and the surrounding suburbs are served by an integrated bus, metro, and tram network, which offers a cheap and efficient way to explore the city. Tickets should be validated prior to boarding. Over 600 taxi ranks are located around the city.
