Island Colony Hotel - Honolulu

The hotel is also a timeshare appartment block so has good services such as in house shop, good laundry, BBQs, etc. Although it's a little bit run down, the room was very comfortable and the kitchenette meant it was possible to save money on food - Waikiki's super expensive to eat out sometimes! All in all, really good hotel, I'd recomend it.

Very satisfied with room and amount of money we very clean and quite was their wedding / vacation it was great.

This hotel is for the working class folks who don't demand a waterfront stay or room service or a restaurant in the hotel. We got a suite with a Diamond Head view from the lanai and an oceanview from the living room. Had all the amenities needed like a timeshare w/a kitchette. We stayed at two other places and this place was by far the nicest we stayed in. Folks who live there were all pleasant, too. Definitely recommend this one to families, singles, young and old.

Hotel is comfortable, alittle small, but view is exceptional.

We were absolutely satisfied with the hotel. Comfortable, nice beds and linen; kitchenette. Good location. Parking available at a decent rate (for Waikiki). Most of all we got what I consider an excellent rate with only one day notice of our booking. It isn't the swankiest on the beach, but I'd definitely go back.

We were up early due to the time change, and the hotel had a huge balcony for us to watch the sunrise on. We could walk every where, to the beach, the night life, shopping. Excellent choice!

The hotel was a great price for the area. The room was definately showing its age with warped wood, yellowed linoleum and popcorn ceilings. But- the room was clean and comfortable. I would suggest turning on the small airconditioning unit as soon as you get there and leaving it on to cool the room. It is a small unit and takes quite a long time to cool the room off for sleeping. We only needed a quick two night stay and were out on the town for most of it- so it worked!

Felt somewhat "unsafe" at this hotel. Lots of "partying" in the rooms around us kept us awake until 4am. The bedding was stained.The room overall did not meet the standard of the other hotels we stayed at in the area in this price range.

things that were broken in our room: tv remote, cold water handle in the shower, table on the lanai, railing in elevator, one of our room keys, blinds, etc. this place is run down and dirty- not worth the money.

Aqua Island Colony is in a excellent location close to alot of shops and clubs also close to the beach and Diamond Head.I had a room on the 23rd floor with a balcony and a excellent view of the city. Would definitely stay again if ever in hawaii.

I wasn't looking for a hotel in Honolulu, HI but something unexpected came up and I was in a 'crunch' for a place to stay. Hotels.com provided excellent service in a time frame that was wonderful. The hotels featured online were all great. My main concern is pricing and Aqua Colony was a great choice overall. The location was a little further than expected, but hey what's a little walking exercise. Highly recommend this hotel and this online service. Good job!

The hotel was great for the price we paid. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view of the whole city from the balcony was awesome. I'm a clean freak and expect the cleanest when I stay at hotels, and our room was immaculate. The only problem I had was that we requested a king size bed and only received two twin beds. It's a good thing we're both really skinny! Overall, great hotel.

This hotel was clean and affordable, perfect for the 2 nights we needed to stay there. If you want to be in Honolulu/Waikiki, this is a great hotel location. We prefer a quieter location, like the North Shore, where we continued our vacation following the 2 nights in Honolulu. There is a great little breakfast cafe (CHEAP!) a block or 2 toward the beach on Seaside. Parking was very expensive and the public garage was attached to the hotel. We were somewhat concerned with our rental car in the garage on a Saturday night - Lots of rowdy bar crowd went through the garage! Overall though, it was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms had a microwave and fridge, plates and cups. A convenient store located in the hotel was a nice touch too!

This hotel was a bit on the worn side. You can tell that it is a condo complex with a number of rooms used as hotel rooms. It's nice that there is a kitchen with apartment size refrigerator.

people would be out early in the morning working with leaf blowers and gas-powered trimmers, at neighboring hotels.cleaning of dishes was not part of the cleaning staff duties.

We took this trip on a budget and the Aqua Colony fit the budget. We booked the hotel knowing it wasn't the Ritz Carlton and we didn't expect it to be the Ritz Carlton. It was located close enough to everything in downtown Honolulu so we could walk to the market square and to the beach. Definitely would stay again.

Good value, clean rooms, excellent location for the money. Staff is friendly. Needs wireless internet in each room. Very nice to have a refrigerator, utensils, and microwave. Beds are typically hard but tolerable. I would recommend this hotel for a budget-savvy traveler who doesn't need to be catered too.

This was our last night in Hawaii - only spending one night on the island of Oahu. We didn't need anything special because we didn't plan to be there very long. The hotel messed up on our reservations and put us down for December of 2009 - so they were booked for the night we were confirmed. They honored our reservation and upgraded us to a suite which was actually like a one-bedroom apartment on the 22nd floor. They also allowed us to check out up to one hour late without any penalty. Parking costs $18 per 24 hours - through a different facility. Staff was very helpful. The place was a little bit run down but really not bad at all especially for the price. It had a full kitchen and a beautiful view of Honolulu - we could even see the ocean from one of the huge windows. Given the traffic in Honolulu - this was a GREAT location to stay! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

Waikiki high rise. Rooms are fine, views are great from the higher floors.

My roommates thought the Island Colony was a bit ghetto but i actually didnt mind it at all. Especially for what we paid for. It actually reminded me a lot of my first apartment in chicago. The front desk people were really nice and able to answer the questions we had, and we were actually pleasently surprised with an upgrade upon check in. When we got up to our room we were speechless with our view. It wasn't ocean view like the more expensive hotels but it was a really cool view of the city and the channel that runs through Waikiki. The room was also a GREAT size, especially for 3 people. The main room had a king size bed and the couch out in the living area was actually two twin beds. So it was perfect for sleeping. Our room also had a nice stove and refridgerator, which unfortuneatly we didnt use much of. We really liked the location of the Island Colony. It was only two blocks away from the main street in Waikiki and only a couple blocks away from hot bars and clubs and TONS of great food. We were also really excited to find out that the Island Colony was a stop on the waterparks shuttle list. The only thing that we were bummed about but wasnt their fault it was just a miss type on hotels.com was that there was no shuttle van at all. It turned out to be okay because the big things we did had their own shuttle service and the other things we could walk to. So all in all our stay was pretty good and i will def stay here again if i ever go back to Waikiki.

Nothing exciting about this hotel but for the money and the location it worked well for us. Very close to the intl market place and beach. Still had a nice view from our room and staff was pretty friendly. I would stay there again without a doubt.

If you are planning on staying close to Waikiki - this is an okay place stay. It's conveniently located, close to and walking distance to the beach and restaurants. This hotel is also a condominium so there are tenants in and out 24hrs a day. The room's furnishings are a bit outdated and this hotel is doing renovations right now-when we got up to our room, we had a great view but could not even open up our sliding door that leads out to the balcony due to renovations. For what I paid for, this is okay - just for a night, but won't stay any longer than that.

I really enjoy my stay at your hotel. The Location is great. I will recommend your hotel, the service was wonderful. I understand that Wakiki is the place with no parking. It was great to have a public pay parking at location. It was great that Aqua Island Colony Hotel Guest were given a discount on the parking. Hope your Hotel keep up the great and wonderful service afforable rates. I'm planning to stay at your hotel in the future.

The two redeeming factors for this hotel are the location and the price. It is situated in Waikiki about a 5 minute walk from great shopping and picturesque beaches, and considering that you can just walk into the better beach front hotels like you are staying there, it's not too bad. We were only there for a 2 day stay in O'ahu before heading to Maui. If O'ahu is your final destination, I would really consider trading up. If you are stopping for a couple days to see Pearl Harbor before heading somewhere else, you could do worse.

The service was quite nice, and the location was perfect...close to the conference I attended and right in Waikiki. The hotel was a little old and was undergoing construction so it was about what I expected for the price.

aqua island colony has nice security staff, but the room that we were given was hideous. i expected a nice room that would atleast have a functioning balcony and clean floors, but the room that we were given was just dirty. the balcony door couldn't even open properly. the service desk did not warn us of the room condition. i didn't have time to complain because i booked a room to get ready at for a party. i will never book a night there again.

everything was as expected, exept smelled bad.

Always usually pretty good. It is right next to some of my work projects in Waikiki.

Would of been about what we expected for the money - but the one thing I looked for when I booked was a balcony-.. which they gave me. What they did not bother to tell us is it was locked for repairs for two months !

Two of the lamps didn't work, toilet couldn't flush, water from the toilet ran constantly.

while the room was overall very clean, the bed was not very comfortable, construction work elimated use of lanai and the view was not good. Location was good--convenient to Waikiki beaches, shopping, etc.

The security at the hotel was very good. The hotel is also in a good location, close to shopping (international market) and close to the beach as well. During my stay the hotel was under construction so we were unable to use the balcony and the pool was complicated to get to as well. The hotel is basically pretty plain, but a good place to stay if you want to be close to waikiki without paying the big price.
