Castle Maile Sky Court - Honolulu

For the price we paid, we thought it would be a dump, but it was far from it! The room exceeded our expectations; clean and spacious. And the staff was wonderful! We extended our stay a couple of days, got a very affordable price for the extension, and did not have to change rooms. The location was excellent as well. Everything we needed to do was in walking distance! We will definitely stay at the Castle Maile Sky Court again and again! Mahalo!

The rates were good but you get what you pay for. Toilets were "kid" size and not very comfortable. Bathroom sink water was only a trickle - not the best. Having to pay for accessing the internet in the room sucks! Air conditioning was not very efficient! Remembered staying at the same hotel in the past in a room higher up and that was enjoyable. On the whole, the experience could only be termed as average, not outstanding.

The hotel is very nice and clean; there is a restaurant/bar on the 1st floor and a pool/bar in the hotel; conventiently located. The customer service was great!!! I would definately stay there again. The only drawback was that the shower didn't drain well :( Either than that one small thing, our overnighter was great :)

This place has a Green Towell policy, I think it means they wash them when they turn Green, they picked the used towells up off of the bathroom floor and rehung them. I enquired at the front desk and they told me it was their Green Policy. They really said that. They say that it was an effort to save the environment. And they said that with a straight face. I called for new clean towells, first time they did not show, second time I went down to get clean towells. The next day the towells that I had used had been picked up off of the floor and left to dry. I took them down to house cleaning and got clean dry towells. Bottom line watch your towells. They did upgrade us to a nice room with a view. The WiFi connection was not as advertised, it only works sometimes in the lobby, had to pay $10 per day to get a secure high speed connection.

Good location - convenient to the Waikiki's quality eatery's, pub's. etc.. Perhaps - i would choose a better quality hotel if i had my family on vacation, but just for me o a business trip - it fit the bill..

our ocean view rm on an upper floor exceeded our exectations because the park between the hotel and the beach created a clear ocean view.

Very enjoyable stay.Great view,clean room,and low price.Excellent restaurant and bar.Upgrade to an ocean view ,rooms have a great view of Diamond Head and the ocean.Staff is great.

THE WINDOW UNIT AC IN THIS OLDER SECTION OF THE HOTEL IS INADEQUATE TO ALLOW ADEQUATE COOLING IN THE AM. WHEN I CHECKED OUT AT 6:30 AM, I WAS DRENCEHD IN SWEAT.

The price of our room was really great, however to park the car in the hotel garage cost us $18 a night! The street around the building has public parking but if your lucky enough to find a space you have to be out of there by 7 am or risk a parking ticket. That was really the only major issue we had with this place.

Good for the price you pay. I like the location. Needs room improvement like TV sets updates, etc.

I stayed in Waikiki for a month in June/July 2009. For my last day, I booked a room at Maile Sky Court so I had a room before my 9:00p flight (to take a shower, etc). My room was ready early when I arrived at 12:30p. The front desk person was very friendly and got me up to my room quickly and efficiently. The room had a smell that I did not like - not sure how to classify it - but not good. I did not ask to be moved as I was only going to be there until about 6:00p. I spent some time at the pool and spa. Jacuzzis or spas are rarely found in Waikiki. I can only think of a few hotels that have a spa. So, this is a BIG plus! The spa is very enjoyable and it's a fun place to meet other people and chat. There's a poolside bar with VERY reasonable drink prices. Overall, it's a good hotel, but the location is a little off the beaten track. You have to walk pretty far to the beach, and beach access is fairly far East from the main Waikiki Beach "drag".

It is clean and convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's worth going back.

Overall: This is a pretty decent hotel to stay at, especially when considering the price comparrison to the surrounding hotels. I think it's the cheapest in the Honolulu (waikiki area). Nearly centrally located in waikiki, precisely located at the beginning as you enter into Waikiki, it wasn't a far walk to the main strip where you have a variety of shops and restaurants. I liked that! There are a few good restaurants a block or two before you reach the hotel, also in walking distance, and the beach access is about 10 minutes away, also if walking. I liked that there was a store located right accross the street filled with the essentials (refreshments, microwavable items, etc.) novelty items, but does not provide meats or produce. What I did find frustrating speaking of the pool/hot tub area, was that about 1pm or so, as the sun is making it's decent into dusk the positioning of the building begins to shade off some of the pool and hot tub area. I think the closing of the hot tub at 10:30pm could maybe be extended til at least eleven, but otherwise it was sufficient. It would have been nice/romantic to sit and relax and see waikiki as the sun sets and view it's night life and lights. And lastly, I got frustrated a few times with my shower. A few times the temp of the water would shift down to cold or would be scolding at the next moment and I had a hard time finding consistency while showering. The hotel staff were accommodating and I didn't mind that the maids came to clean the room every four days. I like staying at this hotel for the cost and would highly recommend it to visitors!

Room was nothing special but it was clean and near all the Waikiki attractions.

We stayed here for one night between flights. The room was small but clean, and if I were staying longer I would consider staying here again. I read a bunch of reviews complaining about the size of the room, but who spends that much time in their hotel when on vacation? We use it as a place to sleep and regroup. Plus, for the price, it was a great location. For a younger couple, it was near the nightlife. The staff was really friendly and helpful, especially in helping us catch a shuttle to the airport. All in all, this hotel is a good value, but if you're travelling with a family or are used to more posh rooms, I suggest paying more and getting something that suits your lifestyle rather than trying to skimp and complain about it later.

Got to the hotel and was greated nicely,told I could only have one key and that the maid only came ever four days.If I needed towels that they would provide them for me.Did not like this but I had stayed here before several years ado so whatever.Get me my room nice view look inside the fridge and there under teo inches of ice was a pack of lunchmeat that had been open noless,not cleaned.Called down they came up got the meat but did not bother to clean.I still think okay whatever,naxt day I call about pool towels there are none small white towels that will wrap around a five year old,but again wahtever I am in Hawaii go to pool no water,ask front desk and it will be filled somtime that day.No excuse or sorry that I wasn't told when I called to ask about pool towels.Last but noy least got there on Thursday afternoon and on Sat I called to tell rhem the window unit was spitting out ICE.WE will contact servicw people right away,I called two other times left on wednesday and still was spitting ice/SO STAY AWAY FAR FAR AWAY

Outstanding Hotel",Great room for the money"

I was there for a convention, and the hotel was located between the convention center and Waikiki. The location was great for my purposes. The price was great for what I got. Bad things: the room was small; they only change the sheets and towels when requested; free internet is only available in the lobby; pool is a little small and run down. Good things: location (though not near the ocean); value; pool bar; staff is nice; pool is open until 10:30.

This was my first time staying in Waikiki. The size of the room really surprised me(SMALL) and the $18 per day parking at the hotel caught me off guard. Butt the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Still had a great time.

Never had a room that small. Now i know why its either a Queen or twin size beds.

The hotel is fine, but they do not provide parking. You need to add $18.00 per night to your costs if you have a car.

Small but clean and well equipped rooms. Only problem was that conditioner didn't appear to make any difference to the temperature, and windows didn't open, so it was very warm. Staff helpful - front desk advised using the (free) wifi in the lobby to book an extra night online, as this would give a better rate! 'Sports bar serves reasonably priced drinks.

It was 3-4 blocks from the beach and for the money we spent to stay one night to get to our final destination, it was worth it. I would not want to spend an entire week in this room as it was small and the bathroom was the smallest, most efficient use of space I have seen. For one night, it was just what we needed.

This hotel is located right on the bus line which makes for easy getting around. The desk staff are very helpful. The rooms are clean but simple. There is a restaurant right down stairs. For the price, it is a good selection.

Check in went well. Hotel has 6 elevators that take forever to get to the floors. Room was extremely small. The room did not even have a microwave! Could never get the right temperature in the shower. Either scorching hot or freezing cold. Towels and sheets were replaced every 4 days. Location was ok. wasn't in the heart of Waikiki but close enough. swimming pool was extremely small. The biggest problem was the parking charge! nearly $20 a night if you're a guest. Most hotels validate the parking. Not this one. $20 racks up when you're on a week long stay. with the parking charge included we could have stayed at a much nicer hotel that validates parking. I would say that the only thing good about this hotel would be the restaraunt. The food was prepared nicely and prices were affordable.

This hotel has a great ocean view with no taller buildings between it and the ocean. You can see for miles and miles. It does not have a balcony however.

Hotel location near Ft.deRussy on Waikiki was excellent. Room was small but clean. If there will only one or two guest to the room, you are okay. Hotel did not have a balconey or lanai and with a small room, we were in tight quarters with three adults. They offer a hide-a-bed for the third person, but you are then left with no place to walk. But the price was right. And we were satisfied with the hotel. There is a small but decent and clean pool and hot tub on the fifth floor with a pool side bar which was nice. Restaurant next door had a breakfast special very reasonably priced.

Hotel room is small, but for the price it is absolutely worth it. The Hotel is centrally located in the middle of Wikiki and is convenient to everything. The morning breakfast at the hotel is great with prices starting st $4.95 for pancakes, eggs and bacon.

This hotel is OK. Prices were reasonable. Don't expect a luxury bedroom, though. My room (city view, queen bed) was small and the drawers did not smell very well. I left a note to the maid asking her to clean it and she did it to some extent (although it kept smelling). Maids many times omitted leaving soaps and shampoo and I had to call front desk. However, most employees are very nice and send the maid with soaps promptly. I did not have to wait long for the elevators as other people said. Also, they give you complimentary breakfast (juice + muffin) which is a plus, but it's not too much. I booked through hotels.com and was not entitled to the breakfast, but they gave me tickets nonetheless. The pool is very small and can be overcrowded many times. If you plan to be outside your hotel most of the time, this hotel is a good choice to sleep at night. The restaurant on the first floor sucks, avoid it if possible. There was wireless Internet connection in the lobby. Also, they are implementing internet service in every room, but, since they had not figured out the payment scheme (and not every room had connectivity) when I was there, they allowed me to use it for free!

This is an older moderate price hotel. The staff is very helpful. The view is as good as any hotel in Waikiki in the ocean view rooms. You will love it. It is right across the street from the city bus lines and close to restaurants. For the price it is a real deal!
